I just ran across this quote by an unknown author-
“Our generation is so busy trying to prove that women can do everything men can do, women are losing the unique qualities that set us apart. The God-given femininity & unique way our Creator designed us. Women weren’t created to do everything a man can do…. Women were created to do everything a man can’t do.”
Lately, this feeling has been building inside of me, but I haven’t been able to find words to express it. This is the closest thing I’ve seen to describe my feeling that society is content and determined to erase all that is unique and magical about men and women in order to prove the impossible–that we are the same.
But we are not the same. And we are not going to be, no matter how many surgeries we have, or what the sign says on the bathroom door. I am not a man, I can’t be one, AND I don’t want one taking a dump in the stall next to me while I’m changing my tampon. More importantly, I truly am sorry if you find this offensive (and I don’t mean that in a passive-aggressive way), but every day I am bombarded with ideas that offend God deeply, and forcing me to pretend they are okay is offensive to me.
If we can’t align ourselves to our own sex and teach our children the most obvious truth about themselves–that they are a man or a woman–and what is expected of them in these bodies, then we are setting them up to be the confused, depressed, anxiety ridden, unmotivated drifters searching desperately for happiness. We are stroking and feeding their egos constantly, which places them firmly on the path to self-destruction.
Look, some people are always going to step off the path of life and make their way in the wilderness. That doesn’t mean that we shouldn’t teach everyone else that there IS actually a path that will bring inner-peace and happiness. Just because the majority of the country in this day and age has never experienced the path doesn’t mean it doesn’t exist! Acceptance of the way things are gives us a strong foundation to build on. Unfortunately, children in this society are being taught that nothing is real, true or objective, and they are forced to attempt to build a life on sand that is always moving and shape-shifting. Impossible.
