As someone who was always very outspoken on the subject of politics, zipping my lips hasn’t been easy. As a minister, it’s not in anyone’s best interest for me to be judgmental. I work with people at the soul level, where we are all the same, and politics no longer ranks in my top ten list of what’s important in life.
Unfortunately for me, something is happening in this political season that is forcing me to speak out. It’s not that I want to go anywhere near this hot mess, but it is because I am a minister I must broach the subject.
Interestingly, it’s not the obvious bigotry, hatred and fear-mongering that has me concerned. My bigger concern is how you are handling it. Are you okay? Whether you are riding this wave of anger and hoping it will get bigger–perhaps become the biggest wave in the country (and some would argue, in the world), or if you are shivering in fear and worry over what the world will become if our beloved country is overtaken by this wave, either way, we have a problem.
You need to protect yourself. All of this negativity will suck you right into a hole of anxiety and depression. Everything operates on a frequency, and in order to keep yours up where you want it to be–in the frequencies of happiness and joy–you need to avoid those things which will bring it down. Political anger IS one of those things.
At this point, you have some idea of who you’re going to vote for, and if nothing else, you know who will NOT be receiving your vote. Regardless of whether you are a republican or a democrat, the big banks that rule this globe probably know exactly who the next president will be anyway. Your worry is not going to change this.
For me, God sees the big picture and there is a master plan at work here. However it turns out, it will be exactly the way it is supposed to be, in order to accomplish what needs to occur. The only thing for me to do is focus on my small circle of influence. I can love my family and friends with everything that I am, reach out to those I can actually help, and enjoy every luxury and blessing with joy and gratitude. For your health and peace, won’t you please join me?
Much love and many blessings,
Rev. Gina Medvedz, MS, CNC
PS- If this political anger is interfering with your work, sleep or family life, we should talk. I hope you’ll reach out.
